Ambien is available in 5 mg and 10 mg tablets. However, the medicine is available in 6.25 mg dosages also under the brand name Ambien CR.

- Ambien CR 6.25 mg tablets are round, pink and controlled release tablets.
The safety as well as effectiveness of Ambien dosages has not been evaluated in children. However, adults are recommended to take 10 mg Ambien dosages before going off to sleep.
